Home....

So here were go again....yet another house! This one will hopefully be our home for the forseeable future, it already feels like home. I'm pretty surprised about that though, our first impressons of the place were not good! Imagine every inch of wall covered in all kinds of pictures and paintings and sculptures and carvings. Imagine yucky, granny furniture, decrepit old spidery pot plants stuffed into every corner and all manner of other "things" here there and everywhere. Combine this with a bit of a stale smell and a general feeling of "hey I haven't been cleaned for a long while" and that was how the place looked a few days ago. Now, if I was a good blogger, I would have taken "before" pictures so that you would truly be able to appreciate the mega-metamorphoses that this house has undergone, but I'm not so you'll just have to take my word for it. It was not pretty! After moving LOTS of stuff and a whole LOAD of bleach and elbow grease, I'm feeling pretty happy with myself and with our little beachy home.....ahhhh :)

Time for a tour...

Here's the entry from the front door and our make shift boot-putting-on area.

Looking through the kitchen to our dining area. The bay window looks out to the side of the house towards next door but there's lots of pretty shrubs so it feels quite private.

Looking back from the dining area through the kitchen towards the living room.

Our cosy living room with it's lovely big windows looking at the evergreens in our back yard.

The stairs lead up from the living room and it's a spookily similar arrangement to the living room in our old red house in Beaumont so it makes me feel very much at home.

Ahhh, Seb's room....the nicest room in the house. It's cozy and light and bright and has a cool stargazing skylight right over his bed!! I love this room!

From Sebbie's room you walk between the double closet's (one side for Seb and one side for Bel) and into the kiddies bathroom. Then you walk through the narrowest door ever to get into Bel's lovely attic room, well it will be lovely soon, kind of a work in progress right now.

Across the landing from the kiddies palatial suite is our rather bland room, no cosy eaves or stargazing skylights here but we'll make her good! We have a closet and a wee little bathroom so it works just fine. I'm thinking of ideas to add a little character so I'll keep you posted! For now I'm so happy to have a bed (thanks to my handyman husband for purchasing and erecting that all by himself!)

Our bathroom is on the small side...ok it's teeny tiny! About the same size as the one in our trailer but now that I've spruced it up with a new shower curtain and a little bit of in-bath storage it isn't half as bad as I originally thought. I do rather enjoy the warmth of the heated slate floors under foot in the morning. Nice!

The den/spare room. This is downstairs at the front of the house and pretty close to the guest bathroom/laundry room.

Out back we've got a little covered area, handy because apparently it can rain here ;)

We've also got some really tall trees and some really tall weeds!

This is the side of the house looking towards the back yard. In the middle of the shot that's the side of the bay window where the dining table is.

Then here's the front door and view from the driveway. (should've moved the truck but it was raining and you get the gist!)
