Headley's do Boxing Day....

Thank you Headley's (especially for that steamed pud!!!)

Merry Christmas one and all!

Good food, good company and one very excited little boy who partied hard and crashed early. Christmas at the Ralston's turned out pretty good this year:)

Presents, presents, presents!!

I'm so confused......I'm pretty sure I haven't done any real Christmas shopping this year and yet we seem to have a squillion presents under our tree. I can tell I wrapped most of them so they're not all for me. Maybe I blacked out and went to the mall?

My handsome boy...

It's getting harder and harder to get a good photo of Seb, he's always on the go running around like a crazy thing. Not to mention that he's usually trying to cover up the lens with the lens cap for me mid photo. He's probably just sick of the sight of my camera. Anyway this morning he stood perfectly still with this amazing quiet little smile on his face just long enough for me to get these pics. I love the one above, he looks so handsome and it just makes me want to scoop him up and kiss him.
Mwah!

Hey where'd my hand go?

Even a game this fun gets boring after a while.

Yum.....seriously......YUM!

Last night we had the very best meal I've had in Edmonton and possibly the best meal I've had since moving to Cananda with the exception of maybe the first dinner we had at Emerald Lake. We we lucky enough to be treated to dinner at Characters in downtown Edmonton and were even more lucky to be seated at the chef's table right in front of all the action. This really cool evening was a special treat for us from Jo as a thank you for some of the photography work I've done for her lately. To make the evening even more special, both of Jo's son's are very talented chef's and were hard at work preparing our amazing dinner's.... right in front of us! It really did make the evening pretty special.

Kyle and Josh hard at work in the Characters kitchen.

Needless to say, Neil loved it! He would love to be a chef and was secretly a bit jealous that he wasn't in the kitchen himself.

Josh, on the right, is only back at Characters for Christmas. He's spent the last year working at a spangly restaurant in Vancouver and after Christmas is moving to the UK to try his luck at one of London's best restaurants.

The boy's treated us to some delicious wine from the Vine Cliff winery in the Napa Valley. Oh it was soooo good!

It's so rare for us to get out for a nice meal these days and this evening with Jo couldn't have come at a better time for us. It was really good to be able to take our minds off everything and enjoy an absolutely amazing meal with great company and meet some cool chef's too!
Thank you Jo, it was so worth the wait!!
