Canada Day 2007

Yesterday was Canada Day. We spent the afternoon sitting out on the deck in the sunshine. Mandy, Kelly, Hunter and Kelly's Mum and Dad came over to our house for a BBQ. We had some nice steaks and everyone (except me and Hunter) had a few drinks. In the evening we were invited to join Mandy and Kelly and some friends of thiers to go and watch the fireworks. After pushing through the crowds at the carnival and giving up on the mini-donut stall due to the ridiculous amount of people waiting in the queue, we finally found a good spot in the park on a slope to watch the fireworks from. This is when we realized we should've come prepared like most of the people around us and brought lawn chairs, bug spray and (most importantly for me) some snacks. We were eaten alive for an hour by the mosquitoes before the show began but I have to say it was worth it. The fireworks were amazing!

Here's "Butter" Hunter looking pretty confused by his Granpa's hands.

And happy with his Mummy.

Neil and Kelly and several empties.

Mandy having fun playing in the princess house in Bev and Jay's garden before leaving for the firework show.

Cotton Candy, popcorn, candy apples. We didn't get any of it, not even any mini donuts!

Our spot in th park. This photo was taken at about 10.20pm. Still pretty light eh!

The fireworks!
