Five go Camping......

This was our first camping trip with Silas and guess what....we survived!!  Yay!! And even more amazingly...we had a great time! Yipeeee!!
I'm sure lots of people probably thought we were a bit bonkers taking our 15 month old tent camping, I even had a moment of panic myself as we headed out the door of our comfortable house but we'd made up our minds and without so much as a practise run we hit the road and drove too far to turn back before pitching our tent for the first night at Lac Le Jeune. I'm not going to lie, that first night was a nightmare. Thank goodness we were too far away from home to contemplate returning because I would have given up if I possibly could have. We were atop the high plains and it was too cold you see. Silas had to kip in a snowsuit and wasn't pleased with this scenario. At all. To top it off we had a popped and deflated air mattress and all in all a very uncomfortable and shivery night. Thankfully we had no option but to press on towards the Sunshine Coast and the promise of a warmer tent the next day. I'm so glad we did! Porpoise Bay was beautiful! A lush Hemlock and Cedar forest filled with ferns and lit with dappled sunlight. The camp sites were lovely and the beach was big and sandy and perfect!  We figured out our mattress problems, Silas was warm and slept really well both nights and by the time we were supposed to leave we all felt like we wanted to stay longer.
